Ninja News – What To Watch Out For This Summer

Most of the current shows are finished, and those that aren’t are almost done, too. It’s time to look forward, and by that I mean, let’s talk about summer shows. A couple years ago, the words summer TV would have received a groan, or, probably, a couple laughs, but all that’s changed. Once you’ve waded through the hours of crappy reality TV that always takes over the summer months, there’s actually some decent shows on the horizon. So, here’s the ones we’re the most excited about.

1. Aquarius

David Duchovny stars in Aquarius, a show where he’s a detective that is searching for a missing girl. The twist? That the girl he’s looking for is now working with a band of criminals led by a gent called Charles Manson! Looking forward to this one a lot.

2. Sense 8

A group of people all over the world that are instantly linked together (well, mentally, at least) are hunted by people fearing their impact on the world. Has all the potential to do well, and a season dump by Netflix has us salivating. Let’s just hope it’s not the classic hunted superhero type clichĂ© and they have put some original material together.

3. Fear The Walking Dead

AMC are keeping things pretty close to their chest about this one. We don’t even know when it’s going to air! It’ll be this summer sometime, but looking like towards the end of it right now. We know it’ll be in LA, we know it’ll be set at the beginning of the outbreak, and we know it’ll have zombies. There’s also a family in the middle of it, who are working on normal family stuff as well as running from hungry walkers. Needless to say we’ll be watching this no matter what. Here’s hoping it can pick up from The Walking Dead and be another success for AMC.

4. Humans

Robots! There doing the housework and driving the cars in this show, but I’ve got a feeling that it’s not all going to be that easy. Robots never are. Remember Almost Human? The robot show with loads of potential that kind of bombed? Don’t do the same with Humans, guys!

5. Dark Matter

A syfy classic plot here. A group of people wake up from cryo-sleep (cause that’s a thing) to find that they’re stranded on an abandoned space cruiser. They don’t know who they are, what happened before, or what to do. Can anyone spell mystery? Syfy’s strong in the summer, and we expect this show to be strong too.

6. Blunt Talk

Patrick Stewart stars here as the British host of an American talk show. Only difference between him and James Corden is that he can pretty much ramble on about whatever he wants. This comedy looks great. Walter Blunt is far from perfect, though. He’s dealing with failed marriages, a whole bunch of other issues and a cocaine problem. Yes, you read that right. Patrick Stewart’s doing blow in this show. Why wouldn’t you want to watch it?
